In 2001, a university-affiliated pharmacy has been set up on the premises of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The aims of the establishment were to nurture pharmacists who can play a part in a community, to improve the motivation of students and to practically train pharmacists in a medical front. This pharmacy was designated as a health insurance pharmacy and contributes to community healthcare with providing medicine with patients given a prescription by a hospital or a health clinic. There are also roles in carefully giving instruction on the use of drugs to each patient, storing full of patients·dose history on computerized files to provide safe and effective medications, and imparting information about primary prevention.
