The Keio University Faculty of Pharmacy is characterized by a research and educational environment that integrates the fundamental fields of life sciences, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry with the practical fields linked to medicine. This interdisciplinary research and education environment provides a multitude of learning opportunities and insights, fosters a spirit of inquiry from diverse perspectives, and enables advanced pharmaceutical education that looks ahead, 10 or 20 years into the future. In addition, we nurture those who will lead the future by playing an active role in medicine, government, and academia, and promote activities to broaden the scope of pharmacists' activities from so-called "basic/clinical integrated" education.

At the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, we nurture students to be able to make scientific judgments and take action from a global and fair perspective. They develop these abilities through the process of learning through their daily research activities on the cutting edge of life science, and from facing science head-on by asking important questions. The mechanism of life created by nature is truly rational and beautiful, and we have seen countless times when students - through their daily research activities - grow dramatically by encountering a piece of nature's essence and have a breathtaking experience. To this end, it is important to create an environment in which students are enthusiastic and enjoy research, to output original and innovative research, and to raise the profile of the Keio University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in a wide range of fields.

We believe that the Keio University Faculty of Pharmacy and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences should produce diverse, talented graduates who will lead scientific and technological innovation to meet the demands of global society, including the promotion of health in a rapidly aging society, a symbiotic relationship with nature, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In order to achieve these goals, we will continue to evolve while implementing our philosophy and principles of what we can and should do now.
